Nights = fair drawin' in

Happy Solstice! And Happy Father's Day, too.

The longest day again. This is one of those short years. It's still been light-ish when I've finished work at 2245 the last couple of days; here's a photo I took yesterday:

While I'm in my flickr account, here's something I meant to ask you lot about. We saw this recruitment poster in Pizza Hut the other week:

"Pole Holder Required"? I mean, what? Is this pole dancing for very lazy people? A way to keep immigrant customers inside? What?

The Top Gear shenanigans tonight were highly amusing - I watched the whole thing unfold on Twitterfall and giggled a lot. Lots of people thinking they've RUINED the show, dammit, by revealing who The Stig is.

I think I need to watch all of Angel again. Someone asked me for my top five Angel eps today (well, he asked for my top Buffy and top Angel eps, but CLEARLY giving just one is impossible) and I couldn't really separate the episodes in my head, or remember what they were called. Apart from Smile Time. (Top four Buffy eps, in no particular order: Once More With Feeling, Passion, Hush, Band Candy. About half a dozen more vying for the fifth place.)

Maybe a poleholder stands in the street with one of those big signs telling people that they need to eat pizza? Or, as you say, perhaps their central European staff are in need of cuddles.

Ahh, that actually makes sense - someone to stand in Buchanan Street and hold the Golf Sale All You Can Eat For £5 signs. Placard holder, surely. Gah.

I'm possibly the one person who does not know who The Stig is. Could you enlighten me?

He's Top Gear's tame racing driver, about whom Jezza makes increasingly "some say" silly claims :) "Some say his watch goes up to 14, and that he thinks the credit crunch is a new type of breakfast cereal. All we know is, he's called The Stig." He never speaks, and we have never seen his face. He dresses all in white and I'm not really a The Stig fan, oh no... :-D

No, I know who he is in that sense. I just don't know who the person is behind The Stig! :-)

There have been a few people who have played The Stig. The first Stig was a former Formula 1 racing driver called Perry McCarthy. He was sacked after he wrote in his autobiography that he was The Stig.

Nobody really knows who replaced him as The Stig. The most popular theory is that McCarthy was replaced by Ben Collins, another professional racing driver.

However, it is now thought that there are several people who are The Stig, because he appears to be a different height from time to time. This makes sense as Top Gear has become ridiculously popular in recent years, and it is unlikely that a professional racing driver would have the free time required to fulfill all of The Stig's commitments.

Ah, they "revealed" him as Michael Schumacher :)

And yeah, there's probably a bunch of Stigs.

If all went to plan I should have a time lapse video of the longest day seen from about roof top height. I'll have to check it later when I get home.

Good Buffy choices. I'd have to say that "The Body" is my personal favourite episode, then "Hush", "Once More With Feeling", "Becoming" (Parts I and II - cheating!), and "Normal Again". Rob's favourite is Band Candy - teenage Giles ftw. I'd have to think about my favourite Angel eps - was never as big a fan of that show.
