  • 14:29 and has discovered that we actually get the proper original RTD scripts for Who. Glee! ~~ #
  • 16:10 wonders when her twitterers turned into a hive mind - earlier everyone was not getting up, and now they're mostly not tidying ;) ~~ #
  • 17:32 is intrigued by the different consensuses (consensii?) about Xmas Who. LJ people love it, DS people hate it. Might have to check out OG...~~ #

That Rosita was possibly the worst thing I've ever seen.

Just Rosita, or the whole thing?

It was just more ludicrously quickly plotted shiny unsatisfying shouting. Those monkey things looked shit. David Morrissey was good but David Morrissey IS good, it's what he does.

I see the appeal of it but it's got a big fat nothing at the heart of it.

Can't really disagree with that! The Christmas specials are always about the shiny. But there was a GIANT STEAMPUNK ROBOT, and soon enough we'll have Moffat doing deep and meaningful. Hopefully.

Mwelllll, yeah, OK. But I find the series is mostly that way too; there's always some hugely crap bit in the non-Moffat ones that just makes me remember I'm watching a kids' TV programme with all that entails. No, I'm not being inflammatory!

I still agree! Most of them, anyway, and definitely all of RTD's. But I like children's fiction anyway, so it doesn't bother me - there's a different way of seeing it, almost. (Although, it's just occurred to me, most of the fanfic I read is from children's entertainment - I read it to expand that world and see an adult's view, I guess. I don't tend to read as much fic from shows or books that were aimed at adults in the first place.)
