Presidential debate

I'm watching the Presidential debate and reading the Guardian liveblog about it. I've never watched one before, it's interesting. Neither of them are impressing me that much...at the moment they're just going "It's true!" "No it's not" at each other. McCain blinks too much, though, and his upper lip doesn't move. Both of them avoid questions - McCain just denies things, mostly, and Obama equivocates for a minute and then diverts on to something he's got a soundbite on - the economy, mostly.

They were being questioned about the negative campaigning - I think Obama won that, but it's hard to tell; McCain contradicted everything he said, and anyone who's still going to vote for him will tend to believe him. But he said he was proud of the people who went to his rallies (the ones shouting "Terrorist!" and "Kill him!", which doesn't seem wise.. They're talking about their VP candidates now - this could be fun!

Hah. Apparently Palin will be a bleth of flesh air. And he's proud of her too. Ahh, politicians.

On a lighter note, nicked from a_pawson:

Pretty much a repeat of the same shit they said in the first debate. I turned it off.

Obama is going to be such a disappointment to all those expecting him to be the new Mandela.

I've noticed Obama doesn't actually say very much at all, but says it very well. Most of his statements are fairly generic things that nobody would disagree with, but aren't specific enough to pick holes in.
