And she never told me her name

TTD catched from various people:

1. Reply to this post, and I will choose four of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee! Or something.

If you want to know about my icons but don't want to post the thing yourself, just ask in the comments and I'll do more posts...

Here are the icons chosen by anonymous_greg, along with my comments:

This is a Princess Bride icon, of course. I adore the movie and can watch it over and over again, but my true love will always be the book. The meta, the playing with narrative framework, the elaborate ruse - and all connected to the perfect story within. My other favourite quote, of course, is "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." Which I also get a lot more opportunity to use. This icon also reminds me tangentially of Oz's God costume in Buffy (which consisted of a similar sticker.)

This is made (not by me) from a Threadless.com t-shirt design. (90% of my t-shirts come from Threadless, and are the Best Things Ever.) For a while I was making a lot of Scrabulous-related posts (I keep forgetting to play now, sorry...) and thought I might as well have a useful icon. Though if you're OK at Scrabble, and depending on the board, this is actually a semi-decent hand. (Hand?) OIICUUU, that's a really crap one.

Girl from Mars - Veronica Mars, sassy teen girl detective in a California high school, only noir. It suffers a bit from the Buffy syndrome - if you try to describe it, it sounds oustandingly silly. But it's got one of the best first seasons of anything, EVER, in terms of the whole season story arc. Kristen Bell is of course now in Heroes, as Elle. "Girl from Mars" also references, and I'm not sure if it was intentional, the song of the same name from Ash, which was out in the summer between school and uni for me. I have one specific memory of it, blasting out from my mate's ancient Fiat Panda as we prepared to film one of our sci-fi things at a ruined castle halfway up a hill.

Heh, this one is just...me. I can't walk past a book shop. Some people find this frustrating. I know a few people who are just as bad as me, including my dad, which means you can't safely send us out anywhere near a book shop or book sale and expect us to reappear any time soon.

(You also asked about the eclipse one, but that's just...Heroes eclipse. I couldn't think of anything more interesting to say about it.)

I should really keep a note of which brands and shades of dye turn my hair colours I approve of. It's a bit...red again. It's not too bad, except sometimes they get more intense after the first wash, so... *crosses Schwartzkopf Live off the list* Ooh, I saw a girl in town with awesome purple and pink manga hair yesterday.

Last word on Boobs - synecdochic has written an essay which tries to look at the whole thing from different angles, in a calm and perceptive way and in great depth, and in doing so manages to produce an assessment with which people from all of the many sides of the argument agree. Most of you are probably fed up of the whole thing by now, but if you have the energy to read one single more thing about it, make it this.
