Drive-by TV recs

There's a sudden glut of Good Things on the telly. Very odd.

As I mentioned last week, Dan Cruikshanks' Adventures In Architecture is great. I think it was on tonight, but you can always catch it on iPlayer.

The BBC4 medieval season is throwing up some gems. Stephen Fry and the Gutenberg Press was marvellous, OBVIOUSLY, and contains a "font" pun, which all good TV programmes should. And it's repeated at ten to twelve tonight. Set your settable things!

And there's a series called Inside The Medieval Mind which starts tomorrow night. I've just seen the second episode, next week's, about sex, and it's both educational and hilarious. Apparently medieval priests had an early version of the Purity Test which they administered to parishioners. And then chased them round the church nearly naked if they'd sinned.

AND, I've just discovered the imminent arrival (I'm not sure when exactly) of The Invisibles - not a Grant Morrison adaptation, sadly, but an ensemble drama comedy thing set in Devon about retired criminals... Doesn't sound great so far, but! Anthony Stewart Head! Warren Clarke! Dean Lennox Kelly! Jenny Agutter! Suddenly it's interesting, yes. The trails look good.

There were about three things on at 9 I wanted to see, and 2 on at 10. sadly, I'm without recording facilities at the moment, and none was quite urgent enough to ask friends to record. Settled for The Apprentice and Desparate Housewives.
Freeview channels sadly unavailable right now.
