(If you don't know what a Mooncup is, you probably don't want to.)

I do love my Mooncup, but does anyone else find themselves running to the toilet every hour or so when they're using it? I think it must make the space available for my bladder smaller, or something. Of course, it could also be the fact that I'm on about my fifth cup of coffee (ten-hour shift! can't help it!) but that's about normal, frankly.

Otherwise, I'm happily avoiding Children in Need, because it's the first year I've had a chance to for five years or so - since I started this job, we'd been in the BBC building so we'd be hit over the head with it for about six weeks prior to the Big Night. And then the canteen would be shut all day. Gah.

We had a meeting at work yesterday talking a lot about how we're a dynamic young digital media company, etc. Lots of people sat about and looked utterly blank as things like VOD and the client side of the gateway were talked about. Later, my department, always ahead on the tech side, discovered for the first time the wonders of the Badger song. Ha. There was a clip in some programme or other that amused the subtitler enough to play it out in the office, and as usual everyone was amazed at my geekiness when I, like, recognised it and sent the weebls-stuff link round. I suspect people are going to be shouting "Snaaaake" at me at unexpected times for a while again.

The weebls stuff cartoons remind me of D&Ding at darth_n_furter's. Them and Weird Al. And it's so long ago now...scary!

Oh, and I saw a fabulous new eggcorn on Digital Spy today - "he was like greece lightning". HA.

Also don't forget that just before the time of the month when you have occasion to use a Mooncup, most women experience water retention. So it's got to come out again somehow!

Ah, true, yes. I never really notice that much, but it probably does make a difference.

That's what I thought it was.

Isn't there a Doctor Who thing on tonight? Have they said what time?

And Badger? That's about 3 years old! Show them llama llama duck!

Ooh, I dunno. I think so, now you mention it. Someone will probably upload it to youtube anyway.

I know Badger's ancient, heh. Don't want to shock them by coming right up to date, but llama llama duck is at least 18 months old now too... Soon I'll move on to lolcats!

Steady on! All Your Base before Lolcats.

I may have to make some sort of timeline...

Eggcorns! Yay! My favourite linguistic snack. :-)

I love 'em, too. Googling it, it seems that loads of people have used "Greece lightning" as a pun, but there weren't any other obvious instances of it being used accidentally. It made me giggle.

Oi! Curse Google and my natural born curiosity! *shakes fist at both*

Me, too. Eep!

Then again, there's a person on my f'list selling reusable cloth sanitary napkins.

*is squeamish about reusable items of this nature* There is such a thing as taking conservation too far.

The reusable cloth ones freak me out too :S But mooncups are designed to be boiled, so I don't mind that.

I just told Simon about the mooncups. He looked quite disturbed. I'm not sure the boiling helps make it more palatable, really.

*snigger* I did warn you. Well, sort of. :->

Where did you get that Sirius icon? And can I pinch it? :-)

Nov. 16th, 2007 10:28 pm (UTC)
You can't be sirius!

<-- could not resist -->

Sure - it's by freem_queen. I can't remember where I get it, but I know it was publicly available. I can never resist a bad pun :)

I googled mooncup last night. I've now been seized by the desire to see someone pitching the mooncup as an idea on 'Dragon's Den'. It would surely be worth an entire year's TV licence.

Ha! Hahahahaha :D That would be wonderful.
