Older men again

Jeremy Paxman is looking extraordinarily sexy on the front page of the Guardian today. I'm slightly worried about myself.

I suppose I might as well give you a link to the reason he's on the front page - he's been talking at the Edinburgh Festival about The Trouble With TV Today. It's caused a bit of a kerfuffle, and he defends himself to John Humphrys here (audio link). The full Edinburgh speech is here. (pdf link.)

Edit: Just noticed that I put (audio link). but (pdf link.) Inconsistent punctutation. Bad pickwick.

Doctor Who won the Best Programme award at the Edinburgh TV fest too. This series might even deserve it! (Don't blink.)

I got an email today titled "Robot Vacuum Cleaner only £58.99", and was very tempted. It's not as exciting as it sounds, though. It might be robotic, but I want my robot vacuum cleaner robot-SHAPED, thank you.

We briefly had a robot vacuum cleaner, but it wasn't very good. in order for it to work there couldn't be any wires trailing on the floor, so we took it back.

Ah. Probably just as well I didn't buy it, then. I've yet to find a way to control all the wires in my living room.

It's tiny! It does look a little toclafanish, though. (Incidentally, there was an advert on telly where hundreds of footballs fell onto crowds. I thought 'toclafane'.)
Dyson had the DC06 that looked quite funky (but still not an actual android shape if that's what you want), but I don't think they ever put it on the market.

Surely not the picture of him with the railings behind? He's looking rather dishevelled there.

Heh, it kinda does. That settles it. I don't want to be killed by my hoover.

Yes, the railings one. I, er, have a thing for smartly-dressed but dishevelled. I can't help it.

Do you have fantasies of stumbling on a tramp who's a peer down on his luck?

There might be a limit on the dishevelledness - maybe, I dunno, having showered in the last 48 hours!
