Itemisation

Item One: First Among Sequels by Jasper Fforde is in Waterstones NOW, despite allegedly not coming out till Wednesday. Waterstones in Sauchiehall St, Glasgow, anyway. So I has it. To read, or to keep for plane journey? That is the question.

Item Two: from loveandgarbage,
I would like everyone reading this (and anyone else you can ask) to think about Gordon Brown on Wednesday at 12.15 precisely to see if we can make him float and glow. If we can all do this, Gordon will be imbued with super-powers and will resolve international crises.

Item Three: Happy Birthday to redatt! I send you an imaginary Stephen Fry serenading you.

Ow... Item Four: Ow! NTS: Mugs have handles for a REASON, dammit.

Re: Jasper Fforde: my dad will be pleased. :D He's been waiting for this one for ages. I read the first couple, then forgot to read the rest, sigh. (I was at the bit where she was living on an old boatplane, or something?) They are so good, and I do plan on finishing them sometime...

Oh...I *think* that's the previous one in this series (there's been two from another series the past two years) so if you finished it you could move on to this one :D

It's from The Well of Lost Plots, which is followed by Something Rotten (which I am just reading). Then come the Jack Spratt books.

That would be Brown Wednesday, would it? (Not that GB (he-heh! Gordon Brown/Great Britain) strikes me as being psychically attuned any large communication network.)

Thank you!

Hmm. I'm sure all of Nu Labr are psychically attuned to some sort of network, possibly via mobile phones, so that Alistair Campbell can tell them what to say. They - or the cabinet members, anyway - seem to embody groupthink. The only question is whether Tony turned the network off when he left.

I've been keeping my fingers crossed for this one, wasn't so keen on the Nursery Crime ones.

Mine just shipped today. Yay!

Needless to say, the US version isn't going on sale until the end of the month.

But the UK cover is better, so you'd have to get it shipped over anyway ;)

oooh.

*trundles off to Waterstones*

Was going to the Manc signing with Rob&Jen, but sadly it clashes with work BBQ and free beer. That, and it'd be a pain in the arse to get to, now we're down to one car.

Was it in the 3 for 2, do you know?

The thought of giving any politician super powers fills me with horror!
