Grotto

Quick links:

Astoundingly pretty ancient shell cave near Margate! Which I'd never heard of, until Flog It enlightened me.

What can and can't you eat when you're pregnant? Specifically, which of the advice pregnant women are given by doctors, midwives and the government is actually backed up by science? Answer: not much of it. Get stuck into that Gorgonzola.

Rah Band - Clouds Across The Moon. I'd never seen this video before. It's AMAZING.

Walter Potter did some truly disturbing taxidermy. (Warning: unsafe for those who dislike anthropomorphised animals.) He TAUGHT HIMSELF taxidermy as a child. Freak. And I don't want to see what happened before he got the hang of it. More images.

(Comments will be answered when I get home, if my computer is working. The graphics card died last night in the middle of downloading WoW last night, and made my screen go stripey in a very penetrating way. I only looked at it for about 10 seconds and I got stripey aftereffects.)

Oh yes! I remember seeing that grotto and being amazed by it too. If only it was closer, I'd love to see it.

Potter's museum used to be housed in Sussex somewhere. I remember visiting it as a little kid and thinking it was just awesome.

They freak me out, for some reason, but I'm fascinated anyway...

The Grotto
I know it well, my Uncle owned the house next door and my Dad the one next to that before he married my mother.

Re: The Grotto
Just read the site origin theories, We always thought it to be an ancient flint mine turned into a Folly, nothing to do with Sun Temples etc, sounds like a bit of wishful thinking plus upping the tourist trade, still very pretty though.

Gesh! What is it with people called Potter? Must be something in the clay ...

Ha! There's a very similar vibe about it to Peter Rabbit, although Peter is slightly less creepy.

Of course, first I thought you were talking about Harry, and wondered about anthropomorphic snakes and things...

Clouds Across The Moon -- me neither. I think they only ever performed it on TOTP. The bloke with the other phone looks like Chris Tarrant!

Stripy graphics cards are due to a buggered memory chip. It's happened to me at least once.

Oh, balls. That would explain why it's working now my external hard drive's off, but may mean the drive is screwed.

Working with the external drive off? That's just weird.

It might not be connected, it might just have been a blip. Hopefully.

Telling anyone not to eat cheese = bad. End of discussion. As you say, get stuck into the Gorgonzola.

Oh dear. Sorry about the card but hopefully it'll sort itself. Or there's always the Nunn/Fox dynamic duo. :)
