Big Brother (both kinds)

So, stuff. Um.

Heroes = good. Not as enthusiastic about it as I might have been, but I really want to see the whole lot together now. Especially the last three, because I believe they were conceived as a sort of three-hour finale, and I think they'll work better as such.

miss_s_b links to a petition to exempt Mark Thomas from having to apply for permission to demonstrate in Parliament Square, because he's causing too much paperwork. Hee. I haven't signed it, though, because I quite like the idea that he's causing loads of paperwork because of their stupid anti-democratic law. Did I mention I'm going to see him in a couple of weeks? Can't wait!

Ofcom has said Channel 4 will have to air a series of apologies for their handling of the race row in Celebrity Big Brother. They've also confirmed some of the things that didn't get broadcast but were rumoured to have occurred. The organ grinder blog has a bit more info so you don't have to trawl through the whole Ofcom investigation. (I subscribed to the Ofcom updates at work, for work-related reasons, and haven't got anywhere near enough time to read the damn things. Because there's millions of them.)

The head of Wycliffe Hall, Oxford Uni - a main training branch for Anglican ministers -claims that 95% of Brits are headed for hell, and asks for a 10% tithe from conservative church members to help fight against the encroaching liberalism.

Oops, better go to work.

Ah, yeah, but in order to exclude hi, you'd need to pass an amending act, which would be very difficult to justify, but could be done.

If that act were to be put through, there'd be many many opportunities for shenanigans from friendly MPs; I'd set a few up m'self I think.

Oooh, I hadn't thought it through that far. Interesting!

I finally got around to reading Nineteen Eighty Four. Only two chapters (and the appendix) left.

It's good, innit? If somewhat depressing.

It's one of the grimmest things I ever read. But yes, brilliant.

Reading Three Men in a Boat now. Much funnier.

Can I ask where you, um, acquire Heroes from?
I'm getting a paltry 0.3 kb/s on isohunt.

I use mininova, and just pick the torrent that has the most seeds - there's usually several thousand seeds for the most recent Heroes, though less if you're looking for old ones.

The gods of bittorrent hate me. I picked the top of the list sorted by seeds -- 300 odd -- and all I'm getting is a measly 0.3kb/s.
