I am amused at how much of my friendslist was watching Eurovision. Heh.

I just got in...mixed feelings. Drunk, mostly, and trying to resist the normal things like telling people things you'd never say sober. But, I think I won the work sweepstake! I think I had Serbia. I'd forgotten I had them (as well as Spain and Moldova - I was persuaded into getting an extra couple today so they were all taken) until about halfway through the scoring when they were well in the lead. It's a biggish jackpot too, because our Grand National sweepstake rolled over. Might even cover most of the vast amounts of crap I bought at Ikea yesterday. I'd forgotten I had Serbia because I thought they were dreadful, and I was supporting Moldova. Who were great! I liked the circus thing that was on in the middle too. You can watch the videos here. I also liked the Ukraine, heh. I'm surprised-ish at how few points Scooch got, because I think the song's really Eurovision and pretty catchy :D We decided that possibly Britain's attitude towards Eurovision (camp, cheesy, piss-taking) isn't the same as other countries, some of which had entered proper songs. Or possibly everyone just hates us.

There's a bizarre film about hairdressing called Blow Dry on just now that nevertheless has managed to get a bunch of top actors - Alan Rickman, Bill Nighy, Warren Clarke, Josh Hartnett, Natasha Richardson, Rachel Griffiths. I was tempted to stay up and watch it, but I'm working again at 10. So I'm on the computer instead. Obviously.

Awww, come on. Blubbering "I love you man" style drunkenness is where it's at.

Shit, I have done it, and that has to be more embarrassing than you doing it.

It did actually look surprisingly good, considering the subject matter.

I have seen most of the UK entry and heard a little bit of it, and I did think on that basis that they would be lucky to avoid ending last. A song (not the worst ever, I suppose, but pretty forgettable) about flying the flag with a routine culminating in the Union Flag appearing...? That's meant to appeal to European audience? It probably didn't appeal to quite a chunk in Scotland. ;D

Ha, that didn't even occur to me :D I was focusing on the air steward stuff and the innuendo! And I liked the planes...

I've seen Blow Dry. I really enjoyed it. It's the only film in which I have ever been prepared to concede that Alan Rickman was able to manage sexy. :-)

Aww, Alan Rickman is sexy all the time! Hey, that's an excuse to link to him reading Sonnet 130 again.

Nice. Although I must confess I'd rather hear Paul Darrow reading it - now there is the most velvety speaking voice I know! Shame the old buffer doesn't look so good these days... :-)
