Kublai Khan's last night for
darth_n_furter's birthday. Amazing food (I always go on about the bizarre meats and the DIYness, but I should mention the desserts too - Mars Bar Cheesecake is even nicer than it sounds) and excessively geeky conversation. I was regaled with tales of dragon-slaying, and told all about the Torg gaming system, which I'd be interested in playing sometime - it sounds different and somewhat hilarious. Also squeeing about Dr Who kittens and Heroes. (Which is back on Monday! Squee!) And hello to
beka4711 and

I got leaflets from all the different political parties through the door today, which I might do a separate post about tomorrow, if I remember. But I was amused they all came together - is this a new energy-saving policy?
san_valentine's suggestion of dressing up as Alex Harvey put me in mind of his bandmate Zal Cleminson, who wore Pierrot makeup and who I'd love to dress up as because I know of him mainly from Christopher Brookmyre's book The Sacred Art Of Stealing. But he may be too obscure - Muso Friend #1 has just failed to recognise the name.
I have also agreed to go to Spain in the summer. Must. Stop. Spending. Money.

I saw the Sensational Alex Harvey Band live a couple of years ago. Sadly, minus Alex, of course, but they were still good. Zal is one of the best guitarists I've ever heard. He doesn't wear the makeup any more though.
Oh, and if I could have one trip in the Tardis, I'd like to go see one of SAHB's legendary Xmas gigs at the Glasgow Apollo in 1975.
(Zal doesn't wear make-up any more? The horror!)
