You know when you feel you should update, but you don't have much to say...?

House stuff is going slowly - with any luck the building society will finally get a survey sorted out tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath, and the estate agents are getting narky.

One of my friends is stuck in hospital for an unspecified amount of time with no internet, no DVDs, and not enough concentration to read, so I was running around town yesterday looking for Things To Do. Puzzles, because that's what I do at my parents' when I'm bored. Coloured pencils, but then I couldn't find those books of geometric patterns to colour in that I love so much, so just had to take a pad of blank paper. Playing cards. I'm not very imaginative about these things.

Today I was on a mission - again - to find black boots with thick soles, because my current pair (which are kind of purple anyway) are falling apart, and I've already superglued them once. But the only remotely similar thing I could find were New Rocks, which are too clumpy and goth and also far too expensive. Meh. There are a couple of pairs on ebay I might go for.

From marrog, Goodle Good News. Hee.

Downloading ep 12 of Heroes, and didn't notice till I was 33% into it that it's twice the size of the normal files. Don't think it's a double ep - must just have picked one that's better quality, which is annoying, because the quality's fine on the smaller files.

My Ep 12 is the same size and bit rate as the others, and you're right, it isn't a double episode.

Have you checked that it's actually Heroes? Sometimes files are mislabelled - but the program I use makes it easy to check that.

I haven't checked, but it's got about 175 seeds, which I think (possibly naively) makes it unlikely to be something else... What program do you use?

Also, great icon, hee!

Yeah, you might want to stop the Heroes ep from downloading, could be a HDTV version so unless you have a hi-def t.v. it's a bit of a waste. :)

It is HDTV, but I've just checked and so are most of the others I've downloaded - in fact, most of the eps on Mininova seem to be HDTV!

Sorry, had a duh! moment there as I didn't realise all the files were HD. You could try EZTV and look for the files that are about 700 under size, these are faster than the 1100 plus ones.

Ah, it's only 701mb anyway - most of them have been 349. It shouldn't take too much longer now...

Do you have a GBA or somesuch you could lend your friend?

A portable gaming system's what I'd want in hospital, anyhow. That and a cuddly toy - always. :-)

(I spent a bit of time in hospital as a kid - always with a cuddly toy. It was essential, or something).

Early morning syndrome.
That was me, btw. With the cuddly toys.

Need. To. Wake. Up.

Re: Early morning syndrome.
Heh :D She has already been offered a DS, but they've been warned that there's a lot of theft, unfortunately, so she doesn't want to risk it :(

Bah, I just posted a comment full of ideas and lj bloody ate it. *grr*

These are gorgeous and I have now bookmarked this site for my own info. Mwahahaha. :-)

Does your friend like cross stitch? You could get a small one for her, not a big complicated one. Or she could make some cards with the blank paper and coloured pencils?
