We could be heroes

So apparently Heroes is starting in the UK on the Sci-Fi channel tonight. They're hyping and advertising it all over the place, but this does not mean you shouldn't watch it! You should, for it rocks! (I'm assuming everyone is like me, here, and can be put off things by over-advertisement. I'm looking at you, Prison Break and Skins.)

The first couple of eps are maybe a bit slow - they take the time to set the story up properly and introduce all the characters. It'll help if you think of it as setting the stage for a 22-hour drama rather than "two whole eps where nothing much happens", though some things do happen! And you'll love Super-Hiro.

I have watched the first three eps, I have the fourth, and I've left my computer downloading the fifth, so I'll probably watch 4 and 5 when I get in tonight. Either that or my flat will have blown up. (Yes, my computer is still making odd noises; no, I still haven't replaced it. Procrastination isn't just my middle name, it's my first and last names too. Today I have renewed my TV license, and am full of a smug sense of productivity.)

Yesterday I introduced gwinniegirl to the wonders of QI. Yay!

I don't think I can get Sci-Fi channel :(
It's not on Freeview, is it?
It does look pretty spiffing though.

My friend has Sky, so I could go round and watch it...

except I've just spent five minutes fighting with the SciFi channel website that will tell me EVERYTHING about the show EXCEPT what time it's on.

...

finally! Gah, it's not on till 10.

Get your friend to tape it for you? But that's not particularly helpful in the long run :(

Bah. I'll have a late night. Can't make my sleep any worse. (Famous last words.)
If he likes it, he'll want to download it so he can watch the whole thing...

It had about a three-page advertisement spread in the Metro, which reminded me fairly effectively!

I'm getting so frustrated, I want to catch up so I can get involved in the communities and things! At the moment I can even go look for icons without being worried about spoilers. (But looks from yours like Chris looks HOT in it. Yum.)

Not to give anything away, but I wasn't convinced until the last scene of episode 4. It involves a subway train.

I'm currently on Episode 15. It's still really good but seems to have slowed down again...

But the question is, would it be anywhere near as good without Hiro?

Oooh. I don't even want to imagine it without Hiro!

Also, great icon :D

yes, over hyping annoys me greatly; I didn't watch Lost because of it. When will advertisers realise that teaser ads should start the week before a programme not about 3 months before?

I found Heroes by accident and look forward to watching it when it comes on the beeb in advert free goodness.

Glad it's not just me!

(I'm watching it in advert-free goodness just now :) I need faster broadband, though...)
