Shortest day

Happy shortest day to everyone. Apparently tomorrow is *7 seconds longer* according to, er, something I read earlier. And now I've tried to google it, which has just made me even more confused, and not at all certain that it's even the shortest day today. Anyway, enjoy the Yule/ Solstice/ turning point of SAD, for what it's worth.

I had a crossover dream last night...can't remember what the original fandom was, possibly Buffy, but person A was waving a post-it and person B was saying "Don't go all Mason on me!" Heh. So, icon in honour of Mason.

Why have I suddenly got a spellchecker going on in my update post window? Is it something I've done in here, or is it connected to the fact I just updated to Firefox 2.0, or what? It might be the LJ Hook update, I suppose. It's very annoying, anyway - it's American, for a start, and doesn't like "honour".

I didn't have Weboggle working on this computer, but now I've discovered it works in an IE tab. Oh dear.

Oh! John Barrowman and friends are singing Christmas songs in A Musical Christmas on Radio 2 at half past seven tonight. That's in 45 mins. But it'll be available on Listen Again for...a week? Something like that. Does anyone know how to save stuff from the online radio player? I think it can be done...people always seem to manage to upload this stuff, anyway.

OK, I've found the "check spelling as you type" option, but I only seem to be able to turn it off rather than change the language. I'm probably in the wrong place.

Thank you! I would almost certainly never have found that by myself.

Ah, so that's why I'm so tired today. These extra seven seconds really take it out of me.

As far as dreams go, last night's inolved me being on a game show, playing for the star prize; a chocolate-covered Penny Smith.

Sadly I woke up before I heard the question so I shall never know if I could have won.

On recording JB, (which was great) if you're using a Mac you can download a shareware app called WireTap which records all sounds the computer makes. I don't know a PC equivalent though.

I'm sneakily recording the Barrowman now...I've got a demo version of a programme called WM Recorder 11, which is brilliant. (Can send the file over if you like, let me know...)
Have a lovely Christmas!
