Snippets of news

We know the Firefly actors are the best ever, right? Well, they're really the best ever. A con got cancelled at the very last minute (because it was, er, a con. Maybe we should call them something different...) when fans were already flying in from various countries. And the cast turned up anyway. Even some of the ones who hadn't been scheduled to attend. Nathan Fillion brought random goodies to give away. Clare Kramer (Glory from Buffy) opened her new restaurant two weeks early for the fans. And Michael Muhney (Sheriff Lamb from Veronica Mars), who'd been scheduled to run the charity auction, turned up too. It was all so awww-some that even the fandom_wankers were touched.

Also, Michael Muhney has an LJ -
thewizrd - and is a member of rack_of_lamb and veronica_lamb. And posts there. (At least about this; I don't know if he joins in on the "Lamb is hawwwt" discussions...) How cute is that?! Heh.

There's a film of Sweeney Todd coming out next year, and I might die of squee. Johnny Depp! Alan Rickman! And Anthony Head! All in the same film! And it's a musical! Directed by Tim Burton, too. On the down side, we do have to put up with Sacha Baron Cohen, but...it should be worth it.

Hal Duncan's RSS feed went mad on me today and posted all his old blog entries, which was cool, because I hadn't seen this one from last year, a great rant about the "homosexual agenda", the catch 22ness of Clause 28, and so on. And the teacher he talks about, Olaf Olafsen, was my English teacher too in my last year of school(not in Kilwinning, mind you), and he rocked. He directed all the school musicals, too. (Hal Duncan wrote Vellum, which I haven't read yet but keep meaning to get around to.)

Oh, I just found out that the guy behind Dead Like Me, Bryan Fuller, is also the guy behind Wonderfalls (with one Tim Minear) and Heroes. So I'm even more determined to watch Heroes and somehow get hold of Wonderfalls now.

I've heard more good stuff about Heroes than possibly any series ever! I've got the first couple of eps, must watch them. Maybe tomorrow when I've finished series 1 of Dead Like Me :)

Oh my. I may also die of squee. How cool!

Heroes and Wonderfalls are fantastically good. I am completely addicted to Heroes and am currently hating American tv scheduling very very much. Stupid hiatus. And Wonderfalls I have on DVD. You should buy it. It's wonderful. :)
