Another freaky music coincidence: I listen to the XFM Scotland X-List from 1-2 most days I'm not at work - it's a phone-in request show, usually kind of indie and mainly 80s/90s, but with occasional older or newer stuff. Yesterday I was wondering what I'd request, and decided on You And Me Song by the Wannadies. Because it's GREAT. (Also Might Be Stars, which is possibly even better.) Today, when I turned it on about ten past one, the first full song I heard was...You And Me Song. Yay! It was followed by Dedicated Follower Of Fashion (by the Kinks), which always reminds me of Fashion Crisis Hits New York by the Frank and Walters - who are still going! Oh my god! They're another minor 1996 indie band, but Fashion Crisis has some of the best lyrics:

"Fashion Crisis Hits New York.
I saw a blind man, he was eating his fork.
He says that's what you had to do to be cool:
You eat your cutlery instead of your food.
What a hippy-diddly-crazy world..."

Also, my friends list seems to be synchronising. Yesterday, two people who I'm fairly sure don't know each other (kniblet, meet tanngrisnir...) both entitled their election-related entries "O, frabjous day". Hee. And today, two consecutive posts on my flist have been talking about dentistry. The Brit was complaining about a filling costing them £42 - which I would have thought was expensive, too. The American was complaining about getting two teeth pulled and replaced, which would cost $3,000. Holy shit! Sometimes I forget how much I love the NHS, even if dentists aren't totally free any more.

Haha. I picked up that phrase from _generica_. It's very handy for expressing one's glee.

Quite relevant to yesterday too, cos one of the next lines is "We have slain the Jabberwock" :)

Callooh! Callay!
Hi, kniblet!

Frabjous day indeed... And now I hear Bush's appointment as ambassador to the UN may well not be confirmed.

WRT dentists, I don't think they were ever totally free. Unlike prescriptions, which were. Grr.

I don't love it, but I might say that to get it into bed...
