Ends of sticks

From dave_t_lurker, Chuck Norris completely fails to understand the Chuck Norris facts that have been going around, but uses them to tell people about God (and why evolution is wrong.) Hee.

This week I appear to have acquired insomnia, which is remarkably irritating. If you've ever been insomniac and I haven't been sympathetic enough, I apologise. Sunday night I couldn't be sure I got any sleep at all, Monday night I got about three hours, *maybe*, and last night I got 8 hours, but only by going to bed at 8.30 in the evening. Didn't get to sleep till half 12 or something. On the bright side, I've been listening to a lot of BBC 7, and it's great. I loved Ectoplasm last night, and Rigor Mortis, which stars Peter Davison and Tracy Ann Oberman - nice Who connections there! And on Sunday night - well, about 4am, I think - I heard an I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue. Which is fab. I really should get some of this stuff on download, or podcasts, or something. But then, listening to it on the bus is probably a bad idea...

I have been putting my irritability to good use by arguing with internet people about the death penalty. Hooray. And obsessively reloading my ebay sellers page...maybe I should just do three-day auctions, because the first three or four days of a seven-day auction are always very depressing. Oh, and I've signed up for the Royal Mail's SmartStamp thing so I can pre-pay and print out stamps for parcels myself, only I can't figure out how to print labels, or more precisely, how to figure out what size of labels it will deal with, so I can buy some. Gah. I got what looks like a user manual in the post today, though, so hopefully that'll tell me.

Oh, I've been meaning to mention this for a while - if you've got kids, you might want to check out the Colours Are Brighter CD that's just come out. It's indie bands doing songs for kids, for charity, and it's got an amazing line-up of bands on there. To the extent that I'll probably buy it just for me. Belle & Sebastian, Divine Comedy, the Kooks, Half Man Half Biscuit, Jonathan Richman...
