Tonight I went along to see Jasper Fforde, who's touring his new book just now, and he was fab as usual. He used the word non-sequitous. I wish he didn't think he was a stand-up comic, though - he's much funnier when he gets into talking about his books and things. Anyway, he told this joke, saying someone told him it a couple of days ago, because anthropomorphic animals are old news and anthropomorphic random objects are the new best thing ever - was it one of you lot? *stares suspiciously at dakegra and sloopjonb*

The Balloon family are asleep in bed. Baby Balloon wakes up scared, and decides to get in bed with his mum and dad. They're taking up the whole bed, and he can't get in. He thinks about what to do, sneaks down to the bottom of the bed, unties the knot and lets a little bit of air out of his mum. He still can't get in, so he lets a little bit of air out of his dad. He still can't get in, so he lets some air out of himself, and eventually he's able to fit in the bed with them.

In the morning, he wakes up to find his dad staring at him angrily. He says, "Son, you've let me down, you've let your mum down, but worst of all you've let yourself down."

Bwahahaha :D

Also, for anyone who hasn't heard it yet, a World Cup-related joke (vaguely):
Sophie Ellis Bextor was found head-butted to death in the apartment of a French footballer. It was murder on Zidanes' floor...

I love puns. Tell me your best pun.

Argh! Those are TERRIBLE! Well done.

The best pun I can think of right away relies on hearing it.

What's the opposite of Christopher Reeve?
Christopher Walken.

(admittedly this was funnier when the former was still alive, but even so...)

I saw a badge once that read "Punnsters, please keep your gags in your mouths". Once of these days I need to get my father one that reads "Incorrigible Punnster, Please do not incorrige" or words to that effect.
