Edinburgh Festival

Today is a historic day. I brought food to work and ate it for lunch, rather than buying vastly over-priced sandwiches from the canteen. I had a cinnamon and raisin bagel with philadelphia - yum. And I've got another one for later.

Edinburgh Book Festival:
Tony Benn MEET THE AUTHOR
Venue:RBS MAIN THEATRE Date: Tue 15/8/2006 Time: 1:30 PM
Appearing: Tony Benn, Richard Holloway

Richard Holloway talking to Tony Benn! I must go. They're two of my favourite "public figures" ever. Anyone want to come? gwinniegirl, will you be able to get time off work?

Haven't got a Fringe programme yet, so I don't know what's on there. I should probably try and buy tickets for stuff soon, because the news said a lot of things were selling out. But the website's dreadful for browsing; you have to search, and that's no good if you don't know what's on and don't have a preferred day to go over. Frantic Redhead productions are doing Macbeth through the streets of Edinburgh - I saw it about 8 years ago and really want to see it again. Nutters with swords running down the Royal Mile through the swarms of tourists. Witches popping out at you unexpectedly in graveyards. Burnham Wood.

If you're going to be on the civilised side of the country I'd be up for meeting up in town somewhere and saying hi.
