Unusuality

On my way into work I saw a guy unicycling down the pavement of Great Western Road while eating a poke of chips. This made me very happy.

It seems to be getting back to the time of year where there's tons of stuff on TV. For ages I won't be watching anything weekly, and then suddenly I've got Doctor Who, Lost, House, Never Mind The Full Stops, Have I Got News For You and CSI. Well, CSI's on all the time, but there's so much of it I get really confused as to what's new and what's repeats, not helped by having some of it on DVD. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Lost tonight. Yay!

QOTM: What TV are you watching regularly just now?

Grumpy old Men
Dr Who
HIGNFY
Top Gear
The news

That's about all the TV I watch. As most of those listed above are new series, you can see my main TV watching consists of the news. I'm a sad git.

ooh, Top Gear. I forgot Top Gear. It's ACE.

I want to know how you get to do that, cos it's not work.

lol. I've just mentioned a unicycle in my last post. Spooky. You never see any for *ages* then two come along at once.

what colour was it? Mine's red.

Watching Deal or No Deal, and trying to work out what hte deal is with Noel's tattoos.

Heh, I just noticed that - spooky indeed! Mine was silver.

I haven't really watched Deal Or No Deal - I saw a bit of it once and I didn't have a clue what was going on!

Try watching My Name Is Earl. I think it's running out there now.

It is! It seems to be on more or less all the time on one of my cable channels, but I haven't watched it - I'll give it a go!

The OC
Lost
Without a Trace
Desperate Housewives
Cold Case
Sopranos
Bones
My Name is Earl
24

Hmmm, that doesn't look as bad as I thought it would written down... or does it?

May. 16th, 2006 03:34 pm (UTC)
Looks fairly sensible to me! I haven't seen much of series 2 of the OC - I think they changed times, and I just kind of got out of the habit. Bones I meant to watch - is that the one with Boreanaz, or am I getting it horribly mixed up with something else?

I haven't watched 24 since season 2, but I've been told that season 5 is top quality.

I'm watching reruns of last season's Dr. Who on the SciFi channel. I was watching The West Wing regularly, but they broadcast the series finale this past Sunday, so that's done for the moment except for trying to catch the rerun of the live debate episode I missed earlier this season.

Lessee, what else? Sugar Rush on the food network along with the cake/sugar art related episodes of Food Network Challenge. The Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart). Oh, and The Simpsons and Futurama are getting recorded on my DVR and watched whenever I have half an hour free to watch something amusing.

Yay! Are you enjoying Doctor Who?? I love that season...better than the one that's on here just now, but I think I'll have to see all of this one before I declare a proper judgement.

West Wing I keep thinking about getting the DVDs of, cos I've missed far too much to go jumping in now. But I like Futurama :)

I watch far too much television. Current regular views (including shows which have just recently ended their run), in no particular order:

Grey's Anatomy
Desparate Housewives
Boston Legal
Scrubs
Gilmore Girls
Supernatural
Smallville
ER
Jeopardy!
Ebert & Roeper (At the Movies)
Prison Break
24
Bernie Mac (ended)
Las Vegas

Bonus: Current radio favourites:

Car Talk
Wait Wait Don't Tell Me (news quiz show)
Says You (word/trivia quiz show)
A Prairie Home Companion

Dude, that's impressive! I've heard a lot of stuff about Supernatural, but it hasn't come across here on a channel I can get, yet, I don't think. Boston Legal looks good, too.

I'm so impressed that Jeopardy! is still on. I'd watch that, if we had it.

I watch about three hours of TV a week plus maybe some West Wing on DVD and Children's Tele with the Grumplings.

New Tricks
House
Dr Who
HIGNFY

I recently tried Grey's Anatomy, but found it too tedious.

May. 16th, 2006 03:38 pm (UTC)
I didn't start watching Grey's Anatomy because it seemed too soapy, especially since it's on straight after House - I thought it would suffer horribly from the comparison.

New Tricks is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, I'm always pleased if I get to subtitle it, but I never watch it on purpose.

Mmm, must pump up the tyre of my unicycle and start riding it reguarly again, I used to ride it into uni but have stopped recently...

Also, I don't watch any TV, as I think it is all a bit rubbish at the moment, and has been for several years now...

Yes, it has picked up again, hasn't it!

I'm currently watching: Lost, HIGNFY, Dr Who, House when I remember that it's on (but we're just hitting the eps I saw in the US so I'm not going to fret if I miss this week), QI, Deal Or No Deal, Wife Swap, Dead Ringers, Location Location Location, Smith and Jones; was watching The Apprentice; will be watching The Line of Beauty and probably Big Brother. More network TV than I watched in the whole of January-March, I think. In the winter we left the cable box on Paramount or Paramount 2 about 90% of the time, even over Christmas, as there was very little worth looking out for.

Oh, and Terry Jones's Barbarians starts next Friday and I'll definitely be watching that, so imc will have to go and watch Big Brother evictions upstairs (I don't care that much about it). ;-)

There's only two things I've been watching regularly, Lost and Desperate Housewives. Lost has raised feelings mixed for me Season 2 but they've gone all out recently, great tv moments.

I wasn't sure if I'd watch season 2 of Lost because the end of season 1 really annoyed me, but I'm pretty impressed with it so far.

The only "must watch" shows for us at the moment seem to be Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica. We often watch random property shows (Location, Location, Location, Property Ladder, Grand Designs), I think we've seen most of the Time Team episodes that are likely to be shown on the Discovery channels now, and Top Gear is a guilty pleasure for me (i.e. Clarkson is quite wrongheaded about cars and transport and the environment, but makes me laugh anyway).
Seem to have fallen out of the habit of HIGNFY, which is strange, because we're usually home and feeling lazy on Friday nights and may as well flop in front of the TV and laugh a lot ...

That's about it, unless rwrylsin reminds me of something I've forgotten ...
pickwick
May. 16th, 2006 06:05 pm (UTC)
Oh, is Battlestar on TV? I've been meaning to borrow the DVDs off people, because I keep hearing wonderful things about it.

Top Gear is such a guilty pleasure for me too - I even pretend I watch it to drool at Richard rather than cos I think Jeremy's hysterical. I know as a liberal almost-feminist I should hate him, but I think he's wonderful.

West Wing, University Challenge (ended), Mastermind (keep forgetting ... we're going to see the final live), Green Wing (ends Friday and I shall MISS IT!) ... um .. that's it. I watched all of Buzzcocks and Man/Stroke/Woman because they were on between UC and some other thing I was watching I can't remember. Oh, and Time Team, but I managed to miss most of the last series for one reason or another.
pickwick
May. 16th, 2006 07:31 pm (UTC)
Ooh, going to the Mastermind final will be great! And I usually manage to watch Mastermind and UC if I'm in, but I don't set the video for them.

And your mention of Time Team has reminded me of Scrapheap Challenge, for some reason, which I also love.
