Things I have done today:
Had more break time than I should have, already.
Read a week's worth of audience logs.
Sat and refreshed LJ impatiently.
Deleted over 2,000 messages from my work inbox. (Er, ooops.)
Tried desperately to not be spoiled for Doctor Who even though someone is watching it and keeps talking about it loudly. And taking the piss out of me when I squeak at him.
Tried to find a black bag on eBay.
I'm having trouble with the black bag thing, cos I can't figure what search terms to use and going in through women's clothing/ accessories/ bags gives me lots of handbags. I'm looking for what I'd call a shoulder bag, that goes over my head, is at least medium-sized, and is black (possibly with a pattern or logo). Maybe a record bag, but ideally a bit less stiff and square than that. This is causing me problems. (Today I'm wearing purple trousers and a black t-shirt and hoodie, and my bag is brown. For some reason, this is annoying me and I want to be able to match!) I do not want a handbag, a briefcase, or anything with a designer name. I want the strap to be long, so that the bag sits on my hip when the strap's over my other shoulder, and the bag to be flexible and large enough for books, occasional spare clothing and vast quantities of random stuff. Help?!
Funky things: BBC Programme Catalogue. You can search for people and it tells you all the BBC programmes they've featured in, and stuff.
For people interested in the civil liberties/ ID cards stuff, an email exchange between Blair and a journalist, with follow-up comments here. There was a good article somewhere about how Blair's strength is in stating something nobody reasonable could disagree with (eg, "Drug overlords should be punished") and then giving the impression that the plans he's suggesting are the ONLY means to that end, and if you object to his plans in any way you must disagree with the principle, and are therefore EVIL, but I can't find it now. Dammit. I think it was somewhere on the Comment Is Free bit on the Guardian site.
Cool fonts at Letterhead Fonts, though they're (gasp!) not free.
