Question: What's wrong with this sentence?

"Ten generations of the Howard family have lived at Castle Howard since 1699."

Answer: Probably nothing, unless you're an English language freak and also a big fantasy fan.

But...waaah! Vampires in Castle Howard! Overcrowded vampires, at that!
