Quote from the programme I'm doing: "Is there a certain amount of status attached to gnome-owning?" To which the answer, in 1971, was apparently Yes. But then, the programme did go on to ask about the existence of she-gnomes and the possibility of Gnomeo & Juliet. (Um, it's Sunday Past Times, on BBC 2, on Sundays. Involves a Sawalha, and, next week, a focus on old TV clips about gardening.)

Death by Caffeine. I will die of coffee and irn bru fairly soon.

You can always tell the nutters by their comma splices:
When have you in BBC's history done a programme showing the reality of Jews and Zionism and their terror campaign and their religious beliefs which include, all non Jewish souls are the same as animals, do what you like to them as long as they're non Jewish, the fact that Israel was built by terrorism supported by the British and Americans, that the first people to hi jack aeroplanes were Jewish terrorist organisations, and that all the leaders Israel has ever had were members of Jewish terrorist organisation, that the Jews have killed more civilians than the Palestinians have many times over etc etc etc

From the comments log, obviously. That was actually only about one third of the sentence, which did manage to have another comma after etc etc etc. Still, I suppose we should be glad that it wasn't ect ect ect...

Apart from some Panorama that's invited debate by talking about West Bank type stuff, the most controversial programme this week on the beeb is Bring Your Husband To Heel, which is exactly what it sounds like - how to train your husband like a dog, presented by a dog trainer. I thought maybe I was being oversensitive again when I got annoyed at the trail for it, because CG has made me worry about reverse sexism type things a lot more, but there are complaints flooding in about it. Good. We might bring in one called "Have a nice adult chat with your husband, not on national TV...." but I don't think it'd be so popular.

Gnomeo and Juliet...?! I think my brain has just broken.

The idea of training one's husband like a dog makes me feel slightly ill. My ex definitely needed to learn how to behave, but still...

Yeah - I'm not sure how you can expect them to behave better towards you when you're treating them like a dog on national telly. Argh.

(And the Gnomeo made me laugh too :o))
