I have shortest night pics - or the night of the 22nd, anyway. This was midnight:

And this was about 3.45am:

I've been playing Freelancer the last couple of nights. Haven't spent hours blowing up spaceships for far too long. Also reading Accelerando by Charles Stross, which is quite hard work, for some reason. Good, though. Need to finish it tonight because it's going back to the library tomorrow, and also because I have a bunch of new books from amazon that I want to read, including Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

And I'm reading a defence of fantasy in the Guardian - I expect the comments will be more interesting than the article, though.

It is awesome. And I just noticed that Trent is totally gay for his buddy that got wounded and then spirited away by the Evil Whoevers.

You're making me want to play it again now XD Man I love that game. Especially how I can spend forever blowing up ships, and the police people still wait for me like it's only been an hour or so xD

Hahaha, yeah. Or you can wander off on your way to meet someone and they'll just stay in the bar for, like, a week.

Accelerando's an odd one. I loved the beginning - I picked it up while browsing in Borders, and it grabbed me so much that I spent about half an hour standing reading it before buying, then continued to read as I walked out the bookshop - but (despite the name) the book feels like it slows down a lot as you get further into it :/

Yeah - I just found out that it was written as nine short stories/ novellas, but I'm not sure why that should make it drag, even within the stories. Odd.

Oh - didn't know that. That does indeed make an awful lot more sense :)
