A reinforcement of beliefs

I just watched two fascinating hours of people from different backgrounds discussing poverty, the Irish links between religious institutions and poverty, the impact being brought up in poverty has on a person, socialism, wars over the last hundred years, gang culture over the last several hundred years and in several countries, the factors that influence gang violence, the difficulties inherent in recognising that there isn't a simple good person/ evil person dichotomy, and parts of the history of the socialist movement.

So I will be continuing to laugh at the misplaced snobbery of those who insult Big Brother viewers. Ha.

I don't understand why people look down so much on Big Brother. I watched all of the one Sam and Amanda were in (I can't remember which series it was) and I really enjoyed watching these people and their different views on society and stuff. :| It's more of a social experiment than a game show, and it's probably the most sensible reality TV show out there.

I just couldn't find the experiment that interesting once they stopped putting normal people who didn't have a clue what was going to happen to them in, and started choosing the craziest most inflammatory people they could find and putting them in a situation where they already knew how to play.

In other words, I was glued to season 1, and then lost interest.

I don't insult BB viewers, just despair for them.

It's the show and contestants I normally insult, a lot.
