It's at least three days since I had a new Best! Thing! Ever!, so...
This is the Best! Thing! Ever!
Cloud Appreciation Society!. How fantastic. I may well join. And they have great books, which I've now wishlisted, and I now know more about the different types of clouds - I was limited to cumulus and cirrus before; now I know all about lenticular clouds and mammatus and anvils. Hurrah!
But mostly it's exciting just because of the amazing pictures. I spent about an hour last night watching the slideshow in the gallery. Stunning.
There seem to be a disproportionate number from Scotland; here's one from Ayrshire:

It also seems that when mammatus clouds were spotted above St Albans, a whole bunch of people immediately ran out to photograph them for the Cloud Appreciation Society. Hah.
