To be or not to be...?

My immediate reaction to the news that David Tennant has quit Who was "..Didn't we know that? Oh, maybe we didn't. Whatever. Heh, well, that's knocked Brand & Ross off the top of the BBC's most read stories list. What a coincidence."

I'm still hoping for Paterson Joseph for 11.

I'm not. I would like the new team to search high and low and cast that elusive creature, an actor who has not already appeared in Doctor Who or Torchwood.

It must be possible. Mustn't it?

I suppose if they yanked in some Australian actor or something, it might be possible, heh. Most of the British roster have been in Who at least once...

(I'd actually forgotten Joseph was Rodrick till you said that. I'm sure if he does become 11, we'll get some crappy one-liner explaining why they look alike. It's probably Rose's fault.)

Has the guy who plays Mac in Green Wing been in Doctor Who? Just read a comment on a message board suggesting him and he could work. Although that would mean a third role where he's playing a doctor.

It's a quote from Neil Gaiman's blog, when he heard about Tennant playing Hamlet. I ♥ Neil Gaiman...

The trouble with Julian R-T is that it would be very hard to stop it being just a reprise of Mac. He hasn't been in Who before, though. Paterson Joseph is a very fine actor who deserves a lead role; he could do it, no problem.

I see Jimmy Nesbitt is in the betting: "Lots of planets have a Norn Iron!"

God no, not Jimmy Nesbitt. Not that I actively dislike him, but he's way too over-exposed.

Somebody suggested Dexter Fletcher, which'd be interesting.

I vote for Chiwetel Ejiofor, as he'd be brilliant.

:-)

And I thought we already knew (or strongly suspected) about Mr Tennant. Have there been and 'Tardis In Need of New Tennant' headlines yet?

Ohh, the Operative! Wicked. And bwah, not that I've noticed, but someone must use it, surely!

I saw him in last night's Unmasked and he's actually got an American accent, which I was a bit upset about! I love his accent on the show.
