I swear on the OED...

OK, so when I'm not posting pictures of bookshelves I have nothing to say, obviously. Also I've been on long and dull shifts at work, which I have been coping with by arguing with Internet Nutters about the morality of incest. Lots of union stuff to do too, as they're trying to muck about with our shifts yet again.

Anyway, today everyone's talking about religion. A selection of links:

Independent review of Here Comes Everybody, a book about social networking and web 2.0 and wikis and so on, but more interesting-sounding than I've made it seem.

I found another list of The 100 Most Beautiful Words In English, and this one is words chosen for their actual lexical qualities, in contrast to those irritating lists in the papers a while ago that were full of "love" and "peace" and "mummy". I do like "aestivate" and "propinquity".

Ha, and I just followed a link from there to The 100 Funniest Words In English, and discovered "abibliophobia: the fear of running out of reading material".

..And I get an hour less sleep before another long shift tomorrow, so I should go to bed.

And now I've corrected the spelling from "Alabania", too. Jeez. Definitely time for bed.

Heh, yeah, it's very cool, and even more so because it seems to have upset the locals so much!

Hmm - that was meant to be no 52! Inglenook, not englenook :)

Re: The 100 Most Beautiful Words In English,
Oh yeah - I did notice that, cos it's in the right place alphabetically for the right spelling, weirdly :D

Which is actually a lower percentage than you'd expect, now you mention it...
