RIP

I just heard that Verity Lambert died last night. She was 71, which is quite young - she would have turned 72 next week, apparently.

Apart from the Doctor Who connection, I admire her for being one of the first and most influential female TV producers - she was the first at the BBC - and she also worked in film. RIP...

What a track record she had; not just Who, but Budgie, Minder, Adam Adamant, and later, GBH. A giant of television, bar none; she'll be missed.

And on the anniversary of DW, too.

What was that Avengers-style series they did in the late 90s? I've just looked it up and she doesn't seem to have been on that -- must have been one of the guys behind The Avengers instead -- but now the name of it is bugging me...
